Chapter Educational Programming
Providing high quality, low cost educational programming is at the very core of the chapter's mission: "To help members and other finance related healthcare professionals excel, thereby improving the business performance of organizations operating in or serving the healthcare industry".
The educational needs of members are constantly changing as the healthcare environment changes. In the Chapter’s 2006/07 Member Survey, respondents indicated the following topics were of most interest. In order of preference:
- Government & Third-Party Reimbursement,
- Health Policy & Legislative Issues,
- Personal & Professional Development,
- Revenue Cycle Issues,
- Accounting & Financial Reporting Updates,
- HIPAA & Compliance Updates,
- Professional Liability & Insurance Issues, and
- Workforce Issues.
The Chapter is constantly trying to maintain the proper balance of providing high quality programs in a manner that is member-friendly. In the current year, we will continue to provide the quality national speakers our members have come to expect at our Fall and Spring Institutes.
In addition, we intend to expand the number of 2-4 hour programs that are more technical in nature and designed for a more focused, specific audience. These programs will be designed to provide practical, “take back to work” information at a very low cost (or no cost) to members.
If you know of a specific program you are interested in or have a need for specific programming, feel free to contact Roberta Spezzano at wscllprs@frontiernet.net or Bridgett Reed at bridgett.reed@excellus.com.
